I have done some hex editing to the explorer.exe file and need to place the new version in my directory when explorer isn't running. How can I do this? I assume something can be done with a boot disk, but I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help you can offer...

Speckledpig, you could start the NT Command Prompt(Start->Programs->Command Prompt) and then kill off Explorer using the NT Task Mananger. Then you can place the new version using DOS commands in the Command Prompt window.
