How do i get the floppy wrking

i'v got this p2 machine anytime i reboot the machine keeps telling me "Floopy drive 0 seeking failure"
but wat more confusing is after booting i can see the floopy in the my computer devices list. i tried swaping the flopy drive the IDE cable but am still having the same problem.COULD ANYONE HELP
 
probably floppy drive dead.

They do have a relatively short life span.
Try it in another system, or try another floppy in yours.

I trust the problem goes away when you unplug the floppy from your computer, does it?
