How do I get that damn Heatskink off the KK266?

I'm talking about the green heatsink on the via chip. Is it the north bridge or south bridge? Anyway, I have a nice replacement for it and would like to put it on pronto.

Please tell me how I can remove it quick! Thanks 🙂

The board usually will have to be removed. From the back of the mobo, pinch the catch in the mounting pins together, and pull them out from the front. I usually get by just pinching the pin catch with my fingers. Sometimes the pins will not hold the HS as well when re-installed. I have a bunch of nice spring loaded pins from leftover Blorbs I decided not to sell to customers, that hold very well even when re-used. If you are using screws or Arctic Silver thermal adhesive, you may just want to carefully snip the pin catches with small wire cutters. Just do not slip and hit a trace. 😉

Hmm, I didn't think they were "pinchable" in the first place. They seem too small. I'll do that when I get off work though. Thanks 🙂
