How do I get TF2? I own half life2

I bought half life 2 a long time ago. Still have the box/cds but dont have it installed.

How can i get TF2 cheap./free

If by cheap/free you mean pay the same price as everyone else. Go to steampowered.com download steam, and pay the 44 bucks for TF2 (+ whatever else)

Oh, I was under the impression that it could be had for cheaper if you owned HL2. Guess not..

The orange box is basically packaged with a free copy of HL2 and Ep1. Depending on who you ask this is either a good thing or a terrible horrible trvesty that Valve is forcing upon people. If you already have HL2 you might want to add it to your steam account first then you can gift the Orange box version to someone else.

I believe it is officially released next Tuesday (10/9).
On the 9th you'll be able to order TF2 by itself for $30.

I already have both HL2 and Ep1 in my steam account, if I picked up the orange box would someone else be able to use the box keys for those 2 games?

Valve's got a system in place where you enter someone's steam id and they get the game. I don't believe it uses cd-keys at all.
