Im trying to get the task manager open in a machine im remotely connected to, and if I press ctrl alt dlt it sends it to the computer im on, and not the remote. Any help is appreciated.

I have tried using the cmd line taskmanager but it doesnt seem to have the full effectiveness of the windows based one, mostly because the /taskkill /pid bla doesnt actually kill the task I want closed.

Or you can right click on the taskbar and select "task manager" ;)

Special Keys in Remote Desktop Connection:

Key for Client.....Equiv Key for Remote Desktop Session
Alt+Tab..................Alt+Page Up
Alt+Shift+Tab.........Alt+Page Down
Alt+Esc...................Alt+Insert
N/A........................Ctrl+Alt+Break
Ctrl+Alt+Delete.....Ctrl+Alt+End
Ctrl+Esc.................Alt+Home
N/A........................Alt+Delete
Shift+Print Screen.Ctrl+Alt+Plus (on numeric keypad)
Alt+Print Screen....Ctrl+Alt+Minus (on numeric keypad)

From Microsoft Windows XP Inside Out Deluxe Edition . Bott, Siechert, Stinson. Microsoft Press. 2003. p 1114. (Additional info & descriptions what the keys do in the same chapter.)

While the 3-finger salute will display the Task Manager, the key sequence MS intended for the Task Manager is Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Dunno if this will work in a Remote Desktop Connection.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete is always applied to the client computer. Use Ctrl+Alt+End to obtain the same result on the remote computer.

Good luck!
