My Averatec 3225HS-20 laptop has a Quanta Storage SBW-242B DVD-ROM/CD-RW optical drive. How do I get specs for this drive? Like the write speed etc...? I checked in system information, on the hard drive itself, and on the Averatec and Quanta Storage websites. The laptop was built in 2004 so it's not THAT old.

Thanks! :D

Why don't you just get the Nero Info tool....?

It's free, and gives you a multitude of information.

Will it give read/write speeds for my optical drive? (like 24X10X24X8X ?)

I'm not sure which of those numbers are referring to which application...

I need it spelled out for me. I am an idiot.

I found the info on another site that sells my optical drive... it says my cd-rw is 10X.

Thanks, maybe I'll need that nero thing at some point.
