How do I get Safari to remember a name and password on a web page that Safari does not ask me if I want it to remember a name and password on, or is that not possible? I hope that is clear. thanks
 
You mean like Firefox does?
Just use Firefox, if you're talking about a desktop machine...
 
Some websites do not allow the browsers to save the passwords. This is an issue with how iOS 7 and Mavericks save and sync passwords. They'll still do it, but you need to have a passcode on the iDevice, and I guess a screen timeout on the Mac.
