how in god's name do i get rid of this piece of junk, crappy-arse software from win me? i can't find windows media player 7.0 in the add/remove program...so where do i go? i want to get back to 6.0 that was only a couple of mb... the player skips and stutters with my mp3s and it's bugging the h3ll out of me...arrrrgggghhhhhh....please advise on a complete removal of this junk. thank you

Change all your shortcuts to MediaPlayer and make them target Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe, then open that shortcut, go to options>formats and check all that you wish to open with WMP6.4.
 
Like the others said, Media Player 6.4 is still there. You just need to associate files with it. Just double click on mplayer2.exe and make the associations from the options.

As far as actually physically removing Media Player 7.0 from the system, You can actually erase every file from that directory except for mplayer2.exe and that should do it. The safest way to get rid of it IMHO would be to use 98lite from www.98lite.net
