really bad mosquito problems where i just moved into, any suggestions? i got rid of all standing water, there only seems to be a few they get me all day i have 15 - 20 bites. i don't really want to use deet everyday. can i burn citronella candles indoors? they seem to attack my ankles and legs more than anything else. thanks

update:

im looking for something cheap, or do it yourself.. i saw a c02 do it yourself thing with a 2 liter soda bottle and water with brown sugar and yeast at the bottom.. but that didnt seem effective. ive closed all the windows and doors, i just had a house warming party where the door was open for a real long time so i think thats where the problem was.. a couple got in, everytime i see one of them i try to get it with a newspaper but have never seemed to get em, they just fly off and i dont see them for another 5 minutes. ugh i really have only even seen 1 at a time. ive gotten pretty good at avoiding getting bit when im awake, but when im asleep its a whole different story. definately mosquito tho, as ive watched it bite me. they seem to get me everytime i go to type something and i lay still for a second.. smart little things. anyway, i think im just gonna get some citranella incense and burn them while i sleep. accordinng to accuweather.com the mosquito index is at very high in my area right now. as it was just a drought for 3 months and rained twice in the last 7 days finally. i swear if i ever catch these suckers in a cup or something im gonna throw them in the oven and turn the heat on max

You could get one of those CO2 emitting devices that attracts them to an area near your property and promptly shreds them into a fine powder.

Or you could try to eliminate areas of still, shallow water.

Mosquitos hate those dryer/fabric softener sheets. I used to use them on my younguns (rubbed on their legs and arms). Try rubbing those around the place.

I think mosquitios are attracted to heat and movement not so much light.

EDIT: And WTF dryer sheets? Are you serious they work?

I'd also check your windows to make sure there aren't areas mosquitos can get through. Went through what you were experiencing once while I was living in Indy. Killed at least 2 or 3 of them per night in my bedroom for a week straight until I finally checked the windows and turns out there was a quarter inch gap between the outside screen and window pane.

if you have some (preferably still) water near by, buy some dragonfly eggs. lots of dragonfly eggs.
