How do I get RedHat to boot?

I'm a noob to Linux and a friend of mine told me to try redhat, so I have it installed, but now I can't get it to boot. I installed Boot Magic which came with Partition Magic 8.0 and I told Boot Magic which partitions were Linux partitions. The problem is, I don't know if I'm supposed to boot off the swap partition or the ext3 partition. The next problem is that I tried getting Boot Magic to boot both, but neither of them worked. Boot Magic said it was preparing my computer for the operating system and after about 5 minutes of nothing happening I figured it wasn't going to boot. I currently have three partitions on my C: drive, one for Windows XP, one for Linux ext3, and one for Linux swap. I'm so confused, can someone help me? Thanks.
