I made some stew for myself yesterday and my hands still smells like onion or potato even after washing them vigourously with soap more than a few times.

Edit: Damn double statements.

Gargling with peanut butter won't help. ;) Try wetting your hands and rubbing baking soda on them. Then rinse.

<< rub your hands on stainless steel Trust Me. >>

This is what Martha Stewart recommends so you know it's gold.

Substitute Toilet Paper with your fingers for a day. I bet that will get that nasty old onion smell out.

Try rubbing parsley between your hands, it can neutralize odors.

Lemon works well when you've just finished cutting onions, won't do you any good now though. Learn to like it ;) It will go away in a couple of days.

Ahh, this reminds me of being a kid. I used to work in a kitchen as a prep cook. Lot's of onion peeling. I was in highschool and hated going out on Friday after work with my hands smelling like damn onions. Hence I invented "THE ONION GLOVES".

Note: The onion gloves are actually just a pair of those yellow dish washing gloves.

They even sell stainless steel 'soap bars" for getting rid of onion odors on hands. It does work, but not quite sure how it works.

I had an onion smell in my hands for the past week.. I had tried rubbing salt, baking soda, stainless steel, lemon, coffeeground soap, you name it, and the only thing that worked was time :(

Put your hands in your girlfriend's crotch. Tuna, onion, and potatoes make a lovely tuna salad.

That's a lovely sentiment, Stomrider, but Jerboy is fresh out of girlfriends.
