How do I get nView working properly?

I have my Dell I8200 hooked up to a Viewsonic GS790 using nView, however, something doesn't seem quite right. Looking at the monitor, the text doesn't seem very clear, especially on the desktop. The monitor just doesn't look as nice as it should and I don't know what to do about it. Any suggestions? Do I need drivers for the monitor or anything special like that or what?

Also, how do I get it working such that the monitor is simply not a clone of what is on the laptop screen? How can I have it such that I have my Photoshop tools on one screen, and the pic on the other, and things like that? Futhermore, if I hook my laptop up to the monitor, how do I turn the laptop screen off?

That doesn't sound like an nview related problem to me. Have you tried running without nView?

As far as setting up nView goes, I'd reccomend trying something else entirely. I've found Ultramon much easier to set up and use.
