How do I get my USB back??

My handspring could'nt sync so I suspected a problem with USB and when I checked the device manager, the usb controllers were gone (Win98SE). This was after I updated my KA7 with th new Via 4-in-1 drivers (v4.25). I have yet to put on the usb filter driver 1.08. Does loading the 4in1 get rid of the USB controllers that are already there? If I load the USB filter driver 1.08 (VIA) will that fix my problem? Are there better drivers?

Definately install filter driver 1.08 this will update files in windows so that it can recognise the USB hubs in the chipset also have you check that you have them enabled in the BIOS - sometimes they are disabled by default.

Also after a BIOS update this also happens. If they happen to be disabled install the filter driver fist and then enable them. I think they have advised that you should install this before 4.25. So might as well install them again after the filter drivers and the machines rebooted.
