How do I get my receiver to automatically turn on when I turn on TV & DirecTV?

As the title says...

I have a new Samsung LED TV and a Yamaha RX-v671 Receiver. Is there a way to get the receiver to automatically turn on when I power up the TV and DirecTV? I have the Receiver set to pipe HDMI out to the TV and take multiple inputs in via HDMI (Roku, DirecTV, and later on a DVD player).

In my basement I have a similar setup, except with a projector as the output. Same model receiver. When I power up the projector my receiver automatically turns on.

So I guess it's really turning on the output that makes the receiver turn on. Is that typically a TV setting, or something in the receiver? I swear I didn't change any settings on the downstairs receiver for it to auto-turn-on.

Thanks!

I think I might have it figured out. Simple, I guess. Looks like I just need to enable HDMI control on everything (TV and receiver) and hope for the best.

Make sure you have "HDMI Control" enabled. I believe this is disabled by default.

I just use a Logitech harmony universal remote. Press "Watch TV" and it turns on the TV, receiver, and DVR, then makes sure the TV and Receiver are on the right input.

A nice universal remote or some sort of triggering, whether it's RS-232 or otherwise.

I've got a Harmony One. A little slow but easily the best remote I've owned.
