How do I get my Ipod to work on an older computer?

Its about 3 years old and it doesn't have usb 2.0 or firewall...

Can I just go and buy a pci card with usb2.0 ports? Would my motherboard recognize it?

Personally, I would opt for the USB 2.0 just because there is more stuff you can attach later. Firewire isn't used horribly a lot except in the professional field. If you run XP you should have no worries, however, anything older and you'll have to do the installation of the drivers yourself.
