How do I get my HP CD-Writer working in WinXP?

It doesn't seem as if winXP supports adaptec cd creator deluxe..when I install the prog and try to run it, it says
"winaspi32.dll is missing, this file is needed in order to access your cd-writer, please restart windows" - I've looked
on HP's homepage, and it looks as if they are aware of the problem, but they still haven't done any fixes...

any suggestions?

winxp only support easy cd creater platinum (version 5)

you're either going to have to buy that, or download NERO (which is a better program anyway) or you can use winxp's native burning software.

WinXP works with my EZCD platinum edition with the XP patch. You can also force ASPI, I forgot where I got that prog from, maybe someone knows.

Do a google search for "ForceASPI"

Adaptec tried to quash this useful little prog, but a program this useful, once it gets out, is impossible to kill.

sohcrates is correct & even then you may need the XP patch from roxio!
if you still need forceAspi for an ASPI layer then you can get it from here. full instructions on how to use it are contained in the unzipped file! :)
