I have an SMC Barricade splitting up the cable modem connection at my house and the printer is hooked up to it.

Windows sees the printer. No problem.

Linux, on the other hand, I'm having a problem with.

I have three choices for network printer. Local, Remote of SMB/95/98. Of course it's not Local, and SMB/95/98 asks me for a server host, server ID, etc. If I just select remote printer, I get a list that has my Deskject 812C on it, but when I go to print a test page, I GET NOTHING! I'm on the network via the router, so I know I should be able to see the printer too!

Does this thing have an IP address or am I just missing something?

HOW DO I DO THIS?!?!

Ug! The program is just so vague. :(

Your choices are just local, remote (which is supposed to be if it's hooked up to another Unix box) or SMB (if it's hooked up to a box running SMB or a Win9x box).

Aaargh!!!!!
