How do I get itunes to check for new mp3s added to itunes folder?

The process for me is download mp3s, check id3 info, place into "Tagged" folder, open itunes, drag each album into itunes library. Is there a way that I can remove a step or two from my process. I'd love to be able to place the mp3s that have been tagged in the itunes folder, then open up itunes and have them show up in itunes. Is that too much to ask?

On a Mac I would suggest you use Folder Actions to automatically add any new files in the specific directory you set to the iTunes library, but I'm not sure there is a windows equivalent for OSX's folder actions.

Whoa, how do you do that?

On Windows, doesn't Limewire automatically add files to iTunes? So, it surely must be possible, just not sure how.

This is my BIGGEST gripe with iTunes (among many). It doesn't have a watched folders feature, like almost every other music library software. The only reason for this anyone can figure is that Apple wants you to either rip music from your CDs (yeah, who does that anymore?) or to make it extremely inconvenient to buy music from anywhere but iTMS.

Anyways, I've been using iTLU to update all of my computers' iTunes libraries whenever I add music to my home server's music share. I setup a default action, then used Task Manager to run it every night at 3am. It works OK, but since installing last.fm's scrobbler plugin, iTunes has been crashing every night during the scheduled task. I'm not sure if my music is still being added, I don't think I've downloaded anything new. I haven't had time to troubleshoot.

Amazon MP3 Downloader does it as well, just not sure how they go about it.
