How do I get into this folder

Tab

Lifer
My 'family' computer had a bunch of spyware on it. I put Ad-aware on that, let it run. I got several hundred files, I deleted all those. It told me it can't delete all of them, so I figure I'd let it restart and run ad-aware later. I come back and I try to log on to my account or any account for that matter I see the backround and it automattically logs me out. So, I figure I'll have to reformat this and I need to pull some photos off the HD. I put that in my computer, I am able to access almost all the folders expect for my parent's account. Supposedly I dont have access, I need to get into this folder.

Cliff Notes

1)I cant get into a folder (My parents "My Documents" Folder), I dont have access rights. It was a HD from another computer that was FUBAR.

BTW Win XP Pro for both

This is not General Hardware related.

Right-click the folder and select Properties.

Advanced button
Owner tab
Take ownership of the folder and all subdirectories
Apply/Ok
Back to the Security Tab
Give permissions to whoever you want.

To enable security tab:
in Explorer, Tools -> Folder Options
