There is no way in hell they are going to devulge your information to anyone. I am not sure why people worry about this.

Tell them at the point of call you wish to remain anonymous and only want to be involved as far as reporting the incident.

On the flip side I usually ask for a call back on many things I report and usually the officer that gets the case/issue will do so.

Um, the OP didn't have any privacy concerns. He wants to participate if needed.
