heheheh a friend of mine paid for lunch in high school with them. of course they don't have a drawer for $2 bills so she kept throwing it under the drawer. the other thing he used with silver dollars, which they always thought were quarters.
um......
$20 dollars??... i don't think so...
i went to the bank.... but they only have the old ones....
how do i get those new, flat, crunchy ones?? i want for collection....
What I meant is that they are not worth more than their face value. ...Unlike other bills or coins

Theyre most definitely not worthless. You can get some people to give you upto 5 or 6 dollars for one. (first years printed) I have a friend who works as a teller at our local bank here in Deptford, and she saves them for me when she gets twenty dollars worth of them. I used to have a nice little thing going with a guy in Delaware who would give me a 1.75 for every Susan B Anthony Dollar I brought him. Problem was he didnt know I could go down the street and hit the change machines for PATCO speedline and drop a five dollar bill and get five Susan Bs for my trouble. Worked right up until he got to about thirty, then he stopped taking them.

You should be able to get them from most banks still. They most definitely do exist, but the majority that are in circulation aren't worth anything more than their face value (1976 and 1995 series). Anything older MAY be worth more than face value, especially if it has errors or is a replacement bill, but it'd probably have to be in mint condition, and you'd have to find the right person to buy it.
I wouldn't bother with hoarding them though. With the amount of them still in circulation today, they probably won't be worth more than their face value anytime soon (i.e. in our lifetimes). Just spend them, I used to leave them as tips.

You can request new ones from the bank. I think you need to buy them in the "pack". Not sure how to describe it.

Heh, this past XMas my grandma gave me a bunch of dollar and 2 dollar bills. But they are from the 50's. And instead of saying "Federal Reserve Note" they actually say "Silver Certificate". At the time, they were backed by silver and you could get silver from the bank if you asked.

I dont think you need to buy a sheet of them... I know someone who used to get his money changed into $2 bills so that he wouldnt spend it.
