Hey Vito, thats a nice cat. He looks huge.

Thanks!

He is indeed pretty beastly in size (I am 6'4") - he's the biggest cat I have ever seen.

LOL... awesome cat... I wish my male cat would get that big, but I don't think he's going to. At first the female was bigger, then he grew and got bigger... now that they're pretty much full grown, they're about the same size, but the female weighs more. He's pretty lean, not much fat on him, but she's getting a little rounded :)

She is a good cat and they have separate boxes that are kept cleaned. But for some reason she started going #2 on the hall floor. She also started preferring to go outside in the small flower garden around the pool.

Do I need to get her a kitty shrink?

That's strange. You might want to check out this link.

^ true

also, if the cat goes #2 and it's not in the litter box, move it to the box .... they'll get the msg that's where it belongs

Thanks a lot to all of you that have responded.

I'll let you know how it goes with the kitten when we pick her up and bring her home :)

Again, thanks :)

im suprised Vito isnt on the bbzzdd.com top 25 yet from myself alone.
it seems every thread you post in, i have to click that link.
i like looking at Vito, he looks like a cool cat.

and my cat just took right to the litter box when he was a tiny little kitten.
no training necessary.

I'd suggest temporarily (for a week or 2) putting tin foil down on the carpet in the hall. Then replace the tin foil with a water or food dish for another several weeks (or even a month).

I don't know that there's much that you can do about her going outside though (other than keeping her inside or covering the flower garden with netting - neither of which are probably very practical).

I've always wanted a really big cat, but I love our tiny little sneakers. She's a bit of handful now though since she's still kittenish. I let my girlfriend win that one. :) I'd get a maine my excellent compatriot cat if I didn't want to pay extra for a pure bred one. I like moogies.

I read this cool website about how domestic cats can actually breed with a lot of larger wild cats and have huge offspring. Supposedly there are hybrids with bobcats and Lynx, weird huh? Its uncommon though, since these cats usually see domestics as prey.

I'm with the "Put cat in small room with food and the litter box" and she'll figure it out. It's natural for kittens to bury their poop so it should basically be instinct once she knows where it is and what it's for.

Even if yo uwant stray cats, they'll go on the dirt and then cover it up and they never had a litter box...
