How do i get a HTP370 chipset raid card to detect in slackware 8.0?

What do I need to do to get this working? Right now it has 2.2.19 kernel but I'm upgrading it to 2.4.7 kernel. Any suggestions would be great. 'dmesg' does not show any raid adapter or such at all.
