How do I get a device onto a wired internet network?

Hello all,
I recently got a PS4 and tried to get it online using wi-fi. But the wi-fi in my living room is too weak to support multiplayer, downloads etc (even after using a wi-fi extender), and my wi-fi router is in my bedroom. Due to living conditions, it would be very difficult for me to get the PS4 into the bedroom (no space really). So I wanted to get it online using a wired connection. I can see two LAN wall socket ports, but I'm really not sure what I should be doing from there. Should I get a LAN router of some sort?
Thanks for all the forthcoming replies!!!

Run a cable from router to PS4. If you have RJ45 ports on the walls, they're probably wired for your phone system - the details there are between you and whoever owns the property. If that's you, then you get to rewire your house. Congratulations.
