How do I get 6.1 sound from my xbox?

I just got the logitech x-620s and it allows for hooking up to a console. It has 6.1 speakers and it only does like 4.1. Do I have to change the setting on the xbox for it to work 6.1? Even 5.1 would be cool. Or do I need some other connector to make it work? Just wondering, any help appreciated.

I don't think the sexbox can do it. 5.1 is your limit, and for that in the settings you can set dolby digital or DTS I think manually within there. THen the sexbox will output, via optical cable, at 5.1, and your receiver is in charge of it from there.

You need optical input and a reciver capable of decoding Dolby digital. I dont think you can do it with the speakers you have.

does the xbox support an optical cable output? or do you have to buy the entire cord thingy that plugs into the unit itself? (I wanna set mine up 5.1 too)

sexbox doesn't. You need one of the extra cable sets for $15-20, and then your optical hooks right into them.

you'll need some kind of digital connection for DD and DTS. Xbox uses optical I believe.

Yeah its a little break out box that gives you S-video and Optical out (something called like the Advanced kit) and then there is a HD breat out box, which gives you High Def.

Right.

The Advanced A/V Pack has composite video , s-video, rca audio and digital optical outputs

The HD A/V pack has component, rca audio and digital optical outputs.

If anyone is interested, I have an Advanced A/V pack that I hacked/modded to have a Digital Coaxial output instead of RCA audio. I don't need it anymore.

I purchased the logitech's once before, and I was under the impression that they will only do 2.1 with the included adaptor? Can anyone explain how I can make these work on my XBOX.

I have the HD pack with my XBox hooked into my HK325. It's awesome playing a game in 5.1.

Keep in mind not all XBox games are programmed for 5.1.
