My ingenious Art Appreciation teacher wants us to use and LS120 disk to save our power point presentations on. I got the disk, and i try to format it and it says it is write protected, but it isn't. Do these disks work in a regular floppy drive?

Yes. You need an LS120 drive to work with those disks. The Drive itself support the LS120 disks and the standard floppy disk. Floppy drives dont support LS120 disks.

It's a shame those never caught on instead of Zip disks. I had one for awhile (still do actually) and it was nice to not have to worry about a floppy since the SuperDisk took care of it. Oh well, it's all about marketing. Plus, they're both pretty much dead now with CD-Rs being so cheap. We do still have a few Zip disks laying around here at the office though.

our teacher requires us to buy these LS120 disks. only one computer lab has these ls120 drives on the computers, and it's a closed lab, all the other computers in the building have zip250 drives. rather than have us use a zip disk, he makes us get the ls120 disks, makes a lot of sense huh?
