How do I format a laptop hard drive?

except if it's ntfs a win98 boot floppy won't see your partition

are you re-installing xp? if so, just boot off xp cd and you can reformat from there

no, fdisk will not see NTFS. put the windows xp cd back in, delete the partition, and you can either format it from here or use fdisk. problem solved.
