How do I flash my BIOS?

Alrighty guys going to flash my bios for my asus mobo that uses AWARD BIOS...now how do I flash my bios? I dont wanna use there program and run my flashing through windows...how can I do it through DOS? Thanks guys!

you should just be able to make a disk with the necessary files, reboot and let it boot off the disk.

d/l the .awd bios file...and write down the name.

then d/l aflash.exe (the flashing utility)

put both on a floppy

boot the computer from a boot disk, then put in the bios floppy

type aflash.exe

follow prompts to save the current bios and then upgrade to the new bios.

reboot computer.

go into bios and choose "setup defaults" then save and exit and your golden

Aside from saying very carefully I would say to find the updated version of the Bios on the web and see if they have instructions with it they usually do. Good luck!

Just check out the ASUS website. There are directions there. Be careful though, it it aint broke dont fix it.
