How do I flash my BIOS? Are we still in the stoneage??

I have a Soltek SL-K8TPro-939. Amazingly, they're still using this awdflash crap that doesn't work in Windows. They want me to put it in a floppy.

Umm, clue for motherboard manufacturers: floppy drives are becoming more and more of a rarity. I don't even have a floppy drive. I don't even know anyone who could loan me one. Stop making utilities that require a floppy.

So how do I flash my BIOS??

Get a FDD. That's why I still always recommend FDD's when I'm building system's for family members and friends. What's even more wierd is that Dell, HP, and other big OEM's offer their machines with FDD's but sometimes release BIOS updates that can only be applied via FDD.

Now that I think about it, can you make a DOS-bootable CD (I've never thought to try)? If so, that would solve your problem.

I was going to suggest that b/c that's what I use (I use MSI's live BIOS update, which is just their customized version of WinFlash), but I'm not sure if your board's BIOS is compatible.

Put it on a USB stick, or if all else fails, make a DOS-booting CDROM with the required stuff on it.
