how do I flash a laptop with no floppy?

I have a Nic connection and a CD rom external for it. Is there a way. I only flashed my Home PC one time so I really forget how to do this.

I assume flashing the BIOS is like flashing it on a normal computer. In that case, you may be able to download to your root dir and run the flashing program from a minimal startup.

However, some BIOS programs want you to use a boot disk, and without one you may even still be a little low on memory to do so.
