How do I fix this IE problem in win2000? Javascript not working?

I cant even PM anyone. When I goto my message history and click on reply nothing happens. The stupid window that pops up doesnt come up. Also, when I goto windows update it doesnt load either. It seems to load but then a blank screen comes up. Also, when I went to the microsoft webpage and tried to download media player 7.1, the button was missing to click download or whatever. Anyone know what the problem is and what I need to accomplish this? Thanks

Do you have Javascript disabled in the security settings of IE? Or are you running a proxy-based ad filtering software (WebWasher) and do you have JavaScript blocking enabled?
