How do I fix Broken Downloads?

I am using a 56k modem and have started large game demo downloads from places like fileplanet. I generally can get about 30-40Mb before my connection fails and the download is interupted forcing me to resume (when I can). Currently I am using the free version of GoZilla. My questions are: Is GoZilla the best program(free) for re-starting interupted downloads? and if anyone is using GoZilla, how the heck do I import a broken file??? (I have 200Mb of the Mir demo and it is only 210 Mb total) thank you in advance.
