How Do I Fix a Bad Partition Table?

ParatoOptimal

I have a Maxtor HD with a bad partition table connected to an IDE Controler Card.

I have a dual boot W2K/XP-Pro system.

PartitonMagic 8.0 wouldn't lauch due to a bad partition table.

PowerMax (a Maxtor Utilitiy) found something wrong with a partition on the drive.

I disconnected the power and IDE lead to that HD and my system now runs as well as it did before.

I need data on that drive. How can I repairt the partition table?

Thanks
