How do I find out who "owns" a file?

Running Windows XP and NTFS, of course. I want to find out who's the owner/creator of some files... I know those properties exist, I just don't know how to view them. The only thing I can think to do is remove permission for everyone except the Creator/Owner and then try to access the file from various user accounts. There has to be a better way to do it... 🙂

It should show you the current owner in the same place that you can change the owner.

Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner.

Got it, thanks. 🙂 (removes Weatherbug and changes that user's account to Limited)

You can also list the icons with the detailed option and then right click over the headers and select owner, that will show you who is the owner.
