Hello,
I keep getting net sent at work. i have there ip and computer name but we have like 100 computers at work - and the computer name is like wad1111982828298 so i need the login to who is sending it.

any dos commands to figure that out? i used tracert and ping to get ip but that doesn't seem to do me anymore good.

thanks

I know of no way to find anything else out about someone sending net sends. You should just turn it off. Net sends suck and are a vulnerability.

I assume you are not the Network Admin as you have the IP and cannot find the computer. Your Network Admin can help you more then any of us can. A user is abusing your works network and management might not be happy with them abusing their computers.

Like Bob said, hopefully you're not actually the admin, and you definately should talk to whoever is to see what's going on. One way to find this info out though sometimes without much trouble is using Sysinternal's PsTools utilities, particularly the psloggedon one.

It depends on a few things but it's your best shot to see who/what is logged onto the machine. Ask the admin though!
