How do I find out what ram to use to upgrade my PC?

I have a packard bell pc which is about 3 years old with a paltry 16 meg of ram. I took the cover off and it had 2x 8meg sticks. On boot up it gives no indication of whether it is EDO or what type of ram. Any ideas on finding out what type it takes?

Try crucial.com! Select Packard Bell from the box on the main screen. Then choose your computer model from the next box it brings up. Hope this helps!

If your computer has memory that comes in pairs, like yours, it is Simms.. probably EDO. I've upgraded crapard bell pcs before and any edo simms will do. Just install them in pairs.
