how do i find ip address for certain website

if you have irc you can type /dns (server name) and it will give you the ip.

you can't keep the "http://" in the address nor the "/news"

Start -> Run -> cmd or command(win2k/xp or win98)

Then just type: ping www.anandtech.com

jup, may not type "http://" if you wanna ping something

Yep yep..

If you have Windows, I think ping and nslookup are the simplest way to go.

If you have Linux, ping and dig are pretty much the same thing as above.
