How do I find bad pixels on laptop?

I recently got a Dell Inspiron 8100 with the 15" SXGA 1400 x 1050 and from what I can tell it looks great! I have been reading many complaints that Dell has a real problem with shipping laptops with bad pixels. Are bad pixels really noticable? I haven't seen any problems with my display. How cna I test for a bad pixel, and how long do these dispaly last?

Thanks

Try looking at the screen with a blank white screen, a blank black screen, a blank red screen, and a blank green screen (just use paint or something to make a large gif or jpg, and view it fullscreen).

If you can't see any stuck or dead pixels, you're fine.
