How do I find a good doctor? (Chicago area)

I'm getting ready to go to a doctor just for a health checkup and to get a few minor things looked at and I was wondering how I find a good doctor. I was hoping to find a good resource comparing doctors, but I haven't really found any yet except those sites that compare "sponsored" doctors. It's not that I don't trust those sites...it's that I want an objective opinion and not a listing of doctors that pay a site to have them listed. I don't mind paying the money for the list as long as they are for real, but somehow I'm not so sure.

Any help, let me know...or if you know of good doctors in the Chicago area that you'd recommend to me, I'd prefer that over other things.
 
well, Chicago is so huge and I plan on probably going to a doctor downtown. There are so many doctors there that I can't choose. I may just go to the first one I find in the phone book. Then again, I may just use 1800doctors.com.
