Seriously though, if I were an employer, the last semester or two of the transcripts is where I would look. I don't understand why people slack off so much on that last semester, but those employers don't have hours to spend on this sort of thing. They probably start looking at your last sememster and work backward. When they see bad grades in the last semester, they will start questioning their decision to hire you. To me, it would give the impression that you are a slacker and you are doing the bare minimum to get by. You noticed that you had done 90% of the work, and now you're screwing up because you're almost done. That is not good to some employers because they need people who will give 100% from start to finish. Not 100% for the first 3.5 years, then only 25% the last .5 years. Your transcripts tell a lot about you and that is why I said that they might not even want to distinguish between a D and an F. To them, it indicates a lack of commitment.

Good luck getting it all straightened out though.

What you say is true, but I already had a job lined up before the last semester. They told me they just need to verify I would graduate, so I relaxed a bit. Plus, it's not like I did bad in every class, the other grades were all A's and B's.

Whichever class it was, have you spoken to its department head?

I'd try talking to your school's registrar, or even the president.

let me get this straight...

so you had a D in the class before the final.
this class is required for you to graduate
you professor tells you that you're in the green to graduate (why not? you're passing your classes)
you tell your employer that you have already graduated (WTF? you lied right there)
then you didn't pass your final (that's a shocker, you had a D in the class)
and now you are screwed.

No. A week after the graduation ceremony, offical grades for all classes were released. I check both on my unofficial transcript and the offical semester grades, both said D for that class. Then I took it to the Dean, and after getting a green light, I told my employer. Now, 4 weeks later, it's changed to an F.

That's really fvcked up... I would talk to the professor first, if he/she doesn't help, talk to his/her departmant head, if that doesn't help, talk to the college dean. if none of that works, get a friend with good faking abilities to call the department and threaten with legal action. trust me, that last part will work as schools already have budget problems. they don't have money to give away to attorneys.

Get off the internet and go talk to your prof and the dean. Posting on Anandtech is not going to fix your problem.

Go see your profesor first:

1) Try asking him to change you grade and explain your situation calmly. If that doesn't work.....

2) Start crying and tell him how you won't graduate and get your job. If that fails....

3) Pull you pants down and show him he is busting your balls. Finally.....

4) Tell him he will see you in courts!

Repeat steps for dean.

Sure you can. Relax all you want...

Just don't complain when you don't pass your classes, and don't get your degree.

Apparently my grade been lowered for one class since I first looked at it on the offical online repository and now I've failed that class. Which is really bad since I told my employer that I've graduated and they are asking for a transcript. I mean wtf, I know they can change my grade whenever they feel like it, but now I'm a liar to my employer and I will lose my job. Right after I saw my grade (when it was still a D), I went and talked to the dean about it (I was concerned about not getting my minor) and she said I got the minor (minor and major require the same class). So I know I was in the green 4 weeks ago and now suddenly I'm fvcked. So how do I go about fighting the school? I will contact my professor, but what should I do if he won't change my grade back?

Edit ---
The thing that irks me is that the grade changed. I understand how mistakes can happen with grades, but I don't see how they apply after the offical release for graduation. If I had gotten an F outright, I would not be upset at the school. I would have blamed myself and planned for another semester. However, they gave me a D (as confirmed by a Dean) and then changed it a month later to an F. So after I told my employer I'm good to go then they jack me. After I started working they jack me. What kind of BS is that? What's the difference between now and a year from now? How about 10 years from now? In all cases, the school made me a liar to my employer and they don't look kindly on liars. Words cannot describe how angry at the school I am now.

He did offer to pass you if you blew him right? Well, they can't prove that that didn't happen. You do what you gotta do, if they really wanna fvck with you, what other choice do you got to play dirty?

They don't have sh!t to lose by passing you, yet you have everything to lose.

Here is what I would do, assuming you've already talked to the professor and department head - and haven't yet tried a lawsuit.

Since you needed a 'D' - I assume this is an elective. Talk to your school's department of credit transfer - and find a local school that has a class you can use to fill in that elective. Take that class locally at your own time - transfer the credits - and then you should be good to go.
