How do I enable Ultra-DMA in Mandrake 7.2?

I have trouble with enabling my Ultra-DMA ATA-100 in Mandrake 7.2, right now I think am using PIO mode. any ideas?
 
use hdparm. Or, I think I heard that using an append like this will work in lilo.conf:

append="ide0=autotune ide1=autotune"

But I was using an older HX chipset motherboard, and it tried to run the drives at their max and beyond my chipset's capabilities. DMA errors galore. You probably have a modern computer though. 🙂
