4 comps in the house, we have a Lynksys router. we used to just AIM transfer stuff around cause it went at 8megs/sec but not it goes at 2k/s AIM transfer sucks lately for some reason, we also used to FTP large stuff around cause that also went at ~9megs/sec now it goes at like 200k/s

How can I enable sharing or whatever so I can get fast transfers back and we can just browse what is on each comp,

3 comps are running Xp Pro, the 4th is running Win 2K, all comps are updates and such

Actually for mapping you can use WindowsXP local Help.

Type into the Help Search Bar the term Mapping and get the instructions.

However mapping will not work if the sharing is not set correctly.

ok ive got some issues

i went to shareing and tried to enable it for a test folder, but i couldent because i didnt have a network set up, so i went to the network setup and selected "home/office lan" cause thats what i want, it did its lil wizard thing and i have this thing called "network bridge" in my internetconnections now, i just had Lan and 1934 connection before,

with that don i can click the shareing thing but when i hit apply it says " the service isnt started" so i cant share things, im guessing i killed the service when i killed a ton of them ccording to black viper, but i dont know what one to turn back on to make this work

This Viper guy got a lot of people into trouble.

His interest seems to be Gaming, and he probably knows very little about Networking. As a result people who follow his advice and then need to be Network experience troubles.

Go over your services and change the Disabled Services to Manual.

Leave Disabled only the ones that you know for 1000% that they are not Network related. (QoS can be disabled).

BTW, in the current state of Giga CPUs disabling some services might be needed for security purposes.

Gaining Computer Power from disables services Nah!
