WinME is not enabling ACPI compatible hardware, nor does the 'Standby' option appear within the Shutdown and Energy saving features of monitor menus.

The (ACPI) BIOS is installed under Device Manager, System Devices. But, individual cards are not being enabled.

How do I turn ON and/or remedy this problem? Thanks in advance.

That is usually done first in BIOS . . . then when that is on, in Control Panel, Power Management in ME. But the key is in BIOS . . . if it is not ON there, it probably won't be ON in ME.

For overall system stability, I always keep that stuff totally disabled. When I go away for a few hours, I leave the computer on and just turn the monitor off. At kleast it always goes back on when I turn it on, whereas sometimes that ACPI stuff just flat out puts it in a permanent deep sleep. :)

Darn "reply" button . . . needs an animated icon to indicate something is going on!

ACPI is Enabled within the BX6r2's bios. And prior to a clean install of WinME. The only cards installed are a PCI ATI Expert98 video card, Creative Ensoniq Audio PCI sound card, and a LinkSys 10/100 network adapter, nothing more.

Still NO ACPI.

OK . . . in Control Panel, Power Management, do you have Hibernate Support enabled?

The Hibernate tab is present, but disabled which was the default. I'll turn it on and see what gives.

The 'Standby' option is NOT available at the Shutdown menu and Power Options Properties tab. The Standby option is what I desire. Again, the Device Manager, IRQ Resources window (double-click on Device Manager, Computer) IRQ View Resources window does NOT show the normal ACPI IRQ verbage that I normally would see for each installed card/adapter. Although, Device Manager, System Devices, the first line reads "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS".

I enabled 'Hibernate' and the option now appears at both the shutdown menu and Power Options Properties tab. But still NO Standby. :(
