How do I do this??

I have networked two computers.. they are going through a hub and my DSL is hooked into the Uplink on the hub. The network itself is working fine, and the server computer is getting data flow fine.. but with my DSL, I can only have 1 IP Address, if my main computer is off and I turn the other computer on, it steals the IP Address, then if I go on the main computer, it has some other IP address that you get when it can't find the dhcp server.. so I get no data flow with it. I can't release or renew the IP... if I turn the other computer off and try to use my main computer, it still has the weird IP Address and does not get any dataflow.. the only solution I found so far was to release the IP on the other computer, and reinstall all the network components on my main computer.. it will pick up the right DSL ip address then. Is there a way that I can prevent one of my computer from picking up the dsl IP address (without leaving both computers on all the time)?
