How do I do a format c: /s with Windows ME

I am trying to make a HD bootable by using the format c: /s option but it keeps tellng me that windows no longer supports this. How do I do it?

are you intending on installing win ME on this drive? If so run format c:, then use your bootable win me CD, or make a winme bootdisk, and boot form that

No, I am going to be installing the drive into my virgin webplayer and I need to format /s for it to work.

Here's a link that's actually a link from bootdisk.com. That site provides bootdisks for various operating systems. Choose one of the Win98SE bootdisks on this list as that will give you a working format command. Then, just boot with that disk. To make the disk, download the file you choose, then have a clean, formatted floppy handy. It will extract all necessary files directly to the floppy. Don't choose the WinME disk!
