Right now I have Win2000 installed on my first HD, I have a second HD that I can put 98 on if need be. Both drives are 30GB

1. Install Win98 on second HD. Your Win2k bootloader will be hosed but Win98 will work.
2. Boot from your Win2k install disks. Select "repair"
3. Add Win98 entry to boot.ini and you're done.

There's a switch for Win98 setup (/ntboot or something) that will install Win98 normally, but instead of overwriting your Win2k boot loader, it will add itself to your OS list. I will edit if I find it.

I don't get it. What am I supposed to do?

All I have is a Win98 cd and a Win2000 cd. No boot disk and no floppies.

ok, you have windows 2000 installed?
boot from a DOS boot disk (oh my god, I hope you have one!) and put your win98 CD in.

cd\win98 and then:
setup /ntldr

install win98 and you're done.

I did what you said and I can only get to 98. it doesn't give me an option to pick when I start up.
WTF do I do now. The only things I have are a Win2000 CD, a Win98 cd, and a Win98 boot disk.

Please help, I really don't want to reformat

Put the Win2k CD in your drive and boot from CD. Once there you can do two things:

1) A repair install, which I have never tried with a dual boot setup so I don't know if it will fix it.

2) Get into the Recovery Console and do a FIXMBR command. That should recognize the new windows 98 install and fix the Master Boot Record, giving you the option to choose your Operating System at startup. You will need your Administrator account Password though, which you should know.:D

I won't take my password.

Is the admin password the one you use for loging in?
