HI. How do i do a clean install of Win XP? -

When i insert the CD into the computer it promts me to install Windows:

* Is this a promt for Upgrading or a clean install??

restart.. boot from cd .. do format. (i cannot thank ms enough for including 'quick format' option w/ xp .. even tho the HD is 'clean' one..

whew.. when you format 120gb w/ ordinary one... gawwwd.. 😛
 
I believe this is a complete new install.
I don't know of an "upgrade" for XP, but one may be able to install on top of an existing install.

 
Yes you can install on top of another OS, and although you can't "upgrade" your OS booting off the CD, you can install clean and keep both (that is, keep both OS' and do a dual boot). The only way to UPGRADE your OS is to insert your CD while running from the current OS.
