Our lighting in our dorm room just went out and maintenance won't be here till Monday. So, I can get a light bulb, but I can't figure out how to disassemble the fixture.

Help

unscrew the thing in the middle and then unplug the plug and pull it down,

if all else fails do as Aceman said and use a hammer.

The middle does not unscrew. It dos not turn and there is no screw hole.

Borrow a couple of cheap lamps, or get them at a thrift shop, and plug them into wall socket. Nothing like direct action. :)

Oh, and a bit of home improvement safety............

Before working with any electrical fixture, always be sure you have an insulated hammer and always remember to wear safety glasses.

im not familiar with that design but i think you pull the tube down out of the clip on one side and then slide it out the other clip ,the electrical connection should just pull out ,the tubes are quite strong,im an electrician here in europe but your fitting is slightly diff to what im used to,hope it works though

remove that plug thing on the left of the middle from the bulb
unscrew the middle, or it may be the pull down type
replace bulb
reinsert the middle thing
plug plug in...
