How do I disable Vsync with a GF3 Ti200 in directx ?

I just got a GF3 and am running the Detonator 27.1 drivers. In any drivers I have used, I can't seem to find how to enable/disable the vsynch for directx (it's right there in the opengl tab however so I know how to do it in opengl). Am I missing something? Where is that vsynch enable/disable tab for directx?

Any help would be greatly appreciated btw!

When you are in the direct3d tab, and hit the more direct3d button. If it is not there, you may have to do the coolbits registry hack.

Because the frame rate won't be limited to the monitor refresh rate. i.e. 75Hz = 75fps tops.

definately not there under D3D advanced ... looks like I'll have to do that coolbits thing. Where can I get that?

Thanks.

Rivatuner is a tweaker I know of that will let you take control of VSync in D3D.

But more than that, it can only begin to draw a new frame on each refresh of the monitor, so it hurts the frame rate as well as caps it.

For some reason, disabling vsync in direct X games leads to more "tearing" (choppiness) than in opengl games, so if your games support the option, go opengl instead. That said, I always keep my vsync disabled.

I actually notice a lot more tearing with VSync off in OpenGL. Which is annoying, because I notice the 60/30/20/15/etc divisions in framerate with OpenGL Vsync, but not in DX. (my apartment is near high-power lines, so any refresh rate other than 60Hz results in major monitor jiggles). So is sucks to be at 60fps, then drop immediately to 30.

Use Riva Tuner to control vsync in Direct3D. nVidia's control panel (activated by coolbits) does not work with the 27xx drivers.
