How do I disable the Windows Key?

Probably an old question but I cant seem to find a straight answer. I need a fix (if possible) for Win2k and WinXP has I would like to do it to both machines. I found a program on Download.com but it runs all the time and would rather not have something running in the background.

Thank you for your help

Same here, I had to look at the MS article to know what he meant my "windows key" I was thinking product key, not a key on the keyboard..... Time to step away from the computer... 😀

Just another typically mindless, tunnel visioned response from a linux zombie...ummm...wake up...linux ISN'T the cure for everything...

Seriously, all you need is step #10:

10. remove windows key with a rather large screwdriver

Problem solved.

If you're talking about having installed a program and it starts up and runs all the time every time you turn your computer on:

In XP go to run and type in "msconfig", select startup tab and look for the program you don't want running out of the gate and uncheck it.

In 2K, remove it in the registry or use a program like jv16 power tools, reg cleaner or Mike Linn's start up CPL to control what starts up.

And no, I dont think the post was "appropriate," just humorous. The 🙂 should have been changed to a 😉 or 😛.
